Experiment with settings.

Some tips based on my personal (and unprofessional) experience when doing long exposure street shots:

• do it at night or when dim enough when you don’t have an ND, neutral density, filter.
• choose a street or area where there is plenty of traffic (my chosen specific street was less dense as compared to the other connecting roads.
• I chose it based on the scene/ the landscape (production value?) and the accessibility of the desired frame (there were obstructions, e.g. plants, walls, posts, to the scene where there were plenty vehicles); and 
• I didn’t have tripod so I made use of the cement ground as the base. I just needed to make sure that the camera was stable (or with very minimal movement).
• set your camera timer to at least 2 seconds (preferably 5) to let the force/ pressure you put upon pushing the shutter subside that could otherwise cause unnecessary shake and blur.
